SDABA was founded in 2016 with the mission to advance awareness, practice, and access to the science and practice of behavior analysis in the state of South Dakota.

Specifically, the organization shall:

  • Serve as a scientific and professional reference and networking group for its members.

  • Disseminate information to promote its mission to a wider audience.

  • Encourage understanding of behavior analysis in academic, business, research and natural environments.

  • Support the design and application of effective and evidence-based behavioral procedures to improve the quality of life of the citizens of South Dakota.

  • Inform political, legislative, and policy-making bodies with respect to all matters pertaining to behavior analysis.

  • Develop a culture to support ethical problem-solving and decision-making for scientists and practitioners in disciplines that embrace the principles and practices of behavior analysis.

  • Provide opportunities for professional development for behavior analysts.

  • Organize an annual business meeting to provide a forum for discussion of the affairs of the association.
