We are pleased to welcome Dr. Patricia Hampshire to share her knowledge on sleep with our organization!

AbstractSleep disturbances are among the most common and persistent co-occurring challenges experienced by individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), affecting an estimated 50–80% of children and often continuing into adolescence and adulthood. Poor sleep has far-reaching consequences, influencing learning, behavior, emotional regulation, physical health, family well-being, and overall quality of life. This presentation will examine the current science of sleep, including the biological, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to sleep difficulties. Participants will explore evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches, with an emphasis on translating research into practical, individualized intervention plans that address the unique needs of individuals with autism while supporting families and interdisciplinary teams.
